Yes that’s true. I decided to ONLY use green bottles a while back for that exact reason. My store room is North facing and the windows are blocked so it’s about as good as it gets :-) Thanks Mark.

    5 star video!

id just like to put something back to you by saying a good thing to do with ‘coloured’ wines is blackout the bottle as much as possible, this will keep your wines natural colours-as light tends to fade pigments in your wine. this will give a lasting impression of friends and family!
im going to watch this serie again now!
cheers for the great video, and hope to see more from you!

np, I killed my yeast off my mistake because the liquid was too hot. I added more this morning and it’s bubbling away nicely now.
Never made root beer. It’s fantastically rare here to buy. It’s non-alcoholic here.

Please include the bubbling process as a prelude to your next video. Maybe a refresher on the procedure you just did. I would like to see the results. I tried to make rootbeer many years ago and some of it failed to stay in the bottles. Much of it actually was good to the taste. Thanks for the series. It was rather good and informative. Will have to try it out. Cheers.

I was trying to do everything, film, make wine, think up a script on the spot. Give me a break :-)

Hey Shorty, You might lessen your washing up if you were to use the sieve over the funnel on the demi-john instead of pouring it into a pan first. Why pickup something twice?

I wouldnt know the difference between a
$5 bottle or $50 bottle of wine. Tastes all the same to me..lol. My brother told me I had an immature palate. Even so I think I would like to try this. Would make nice Christmas gifts..lol. Could be used for barter as well. Thanks

No problem, Its not too tricky, just make sure you clean the demijohn out, and try and store the fermenting wine at a constant temperature. Hot water cylinders are great, if you have an Immersion heating kicking in twice a day that would even be enough.

Although there are other winemaking videos on You Tube, you present the process with such a straightforward style. I tried and failed to make my own wine probably a couple decades ago. You make it look so easy, you have encouraged me to give it another try. Thank you for doing this series Mark.
